On Target Archery Products Ltd opened officially in January 2009 and is looking at providing a wide range of archery products for all archery fans from the traditional archer to the target competitor and the bowhunter.

On Target Archery Products is committed to provide the best possible service  and will endeavor to keep its prices low to promote the sport of archery in  New Zealand.

Our Story

My husband Chris and I arrived in New Zealand in August 2000 and first got settled in Whakatane where we soon joined the Whakatane Archery Club. Chris resumed a 25 years long passion for compound target shooting. For me, it was the discovery of a new sport and recurve archery became my specialty.

In 2003 we moved to Palmerston North, but there was no Club there at that stage, so we shot on and off in our paddock. In 2005 we joined the newly established Archery section of the Rod Rifle and Gun Club, however it soon became evident that the Club wasn't competitively orientated and in 2007 a group of us created the Manawatu Archery Club. As of April 2011 there are about 150 target archers in Palmerston North.

The arrival of our son in 2005 and 2 years later our daughter has put a damper on my scientifique career (as well as archery commitement :). In 2008 rumors that Jan Kozler from "The Bow and Arrow Company" was ready to leave the business sparked the idea of a new archery shop based in Palmerston North. I saw the opportunity as a perfect solution to be more involved in a sport that had become mine and realise the dream of having my own business.

I have learned a tremendous amount of information about archery in the last 2 years, especially on the traditional and hunting side of things. I have also met with a wide range of fantastic people, some newcomers to the sport, some with 30 years experience, but all passionate about archery whatever its form... and I am very proud to help grow the sport in the Manawatu and in New Zealand.
